In this fast growing social-media on internet. we eagerly wait for some status update on facebook, tweets, or some scrape on orkut. because its human tendancy to know more about others, their surrounding, then himself.
Our user behaviour on internet will generate demand for change in IT Solutions. Here I would like to mention some intersing outcome of some of the survey::
- LBS(Location based Services) is on the top 10 social media transfer of 2011. if we think why so? its very simple, social media wants revenue, which comes from advertisement. and that ads should be relevent. So that’s why LBS.
- 3rd most used applicatin on iPhone is – Mapping.
- Most used app on Android is- Mapping.
- 2nd most used servics on google network – Mapping.
- according to a google blog, Google Mapping is one of their top five priority for futute.
If these big giant are going to be GEO enabled. then we have to look at IT Market.
- 45% of organizations have ability to procure ERP.
- 31% have ability to procure enterprise content management or Information management.
- 24% have budget for mobility.
Now what does it means, It means if you meet 10 customers, 2 and 1/2 of them want to know your mobility offering. Here are the some of the IT markets which will get benifited if they go Geo-Enabled.
ERP , CRM, Logistics, SAP , Business Intellegence etc. But here one doubt.We have to make them to think GEO. We have to move out of our comfot zone. We have to talk to IT decision makers, business decision makers, web heads, fast moving companies that do samrtphones development. If we manage to learn to speak that language inorder to give them something Geo with their business, I think now a days advancement in Technology enbabled us to add that Geo dimention to any business application.
